Travel, nature and the moments worth stopping for.

I’m Dylan, based in Basel, Switzerland and working full time in finance. Photography is the part of my life that usually begins when I travel—especially to South Africa, which has become a second home and the place I most enjoy photographing. The Overberg coast, whales, fynbos, wide landscapes and time spent on safari have shaped much of what I look for with a camera.

I mainly photograph wildlife, nature and the places I visit. I like images that show more than the obvious subject: an animal within its environment, movement in water or grass, a road pulling you through a landscape, or a small detail that gives a place its character. Sometimes that means a close encounter; often it means stepping back and showing the space around it.

I simply enjoy having a proper camera in my hands—the weight, the controls, looking through the viewfinder and deciding what belongs in the frame. A phone is excellent for recording where I have been, but a camera makes me pay attention differently. I shoot currently with a Canon R6 III and a Panasonic Lumix S9 and whenever it fits with the phone or the drone.

This website is a growing collection of the photographs, journeys and longer projects that have stayed with me.
